Joy Menu helps you choose something good to do when you feel bored, low or stuck. You write your own menu of things you enjoy, sorted like a restaurant menu: quick starters, longer mains, sides to pair with boring tasks, and desserts to enjoy mindfully. When you feel flat, tap “I’ve got 5 minutes” and it shows one idea that fits. You can print your menu or save it as a picture for the fridge or your phone. It is designed with ADHD and autistic people in mind, and works for anyone.
Questions
Where does the menu idea come from?
It follows the idea of a dopamine menu (a popular idea in the ADHD community): a ready-made list of things you enjoy, sorted like a restaurant menu, so you don’t have to think of something when you have no energy. Joy Menu is simply a list you make for yourself.
What are some menu ideas to start with?
Starters could be making tea, one song to dance to or stepping outside. Mains could be a short walk, baking or calling a friend. Sides could be a podcast while you tidy. Desserts could be one episode of a show. The app starts with an example menu you can change or clear.
Can I print it or use it as a template?
Yes. Tap “Save my menu as a picture” for an image you can set as your lock screen or print, or use your browser’s Print for a clean paper copy.
Is it free, and is my menu private?
Joy Menu is completely free, with no ads and no account. Your menu stays in this browser on your device. Nothing is sent to Favabeans or anyone else. It works offline after your first visit.
